Trump behind Biden and four other Democrats in a poll

President Donald Trump is lagging behind five Democrats, including Joe Biden, who leads the race in his party’s primary polls, according to a nationwide poll released Sunday by Fox News.

The former vice president of Barack Obama gets 49% of voting intentions against 39% for President Trump among those registered voters polled across the country.

Independent Senator Bernie Sanders, running in the Democratic primary, also gets 49% in this virtual duel with the Republican billionaire who is credited this time with 40%, in this poll with three percentage points of margin of error.

Senators Elizabeth Warren and Kamala Harris, as well as South Bend, Indiana, mayor Pete Buttigieg, are also ahead of Trump by one or two points.

The publication of this poll by the conservative channel, and preferred by the US president, comes 500 days before the election on November 3, 2020. It was carried out from June 9 to 12.

Donald Trump is scheduled to officially announce his run for a second term at a rally Tuesday in Orlando, Florida.

A separate CBS News/ouGov opinion poll in key states shows Democratic voters believe with a big gap that Joe Biden is the best – among the 20 or so Democrat primary candidates – to beat the billionaire Republican in 2020.

In this poll conducted from May 31 to June 12 with a 1.5% margin of error, 31% of Democrats who intend to vote in the primary in 18 key states chose Joe Biden, Elizabeth Warren (17%), Bernie Sanders (16%) and Kamala Harris (10%).

“I think I can win in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Michigan and a few other decisive states,” Sanders told Fox News Sunday.

The first televised debate between Democratic candidates is scheduled for the end of June, over two days given their number: 10 on June 26 and the other 10 the next day. Three did not meet the criteria to participate.
